A Story of the
High Plateau

⏱ The Genesis (1994)

Norfesela Retreat began as a simple base camp for mountaineers exploring the Zanskar mountains. Founded by a local guide from Wakha Village, it was created as a welcoming place where tired travelers could rest, feel at home, and connect with the calm of the surrounding wilderness.

Over the past three decades, the retreat has grown from basic tents into a thoughtfully curated collection of luxury sanctuaries. Through every change, we have stayed true to our roots—preserving the spirit, silence, and soul of the mountains.

🌿 Sustainable Sanctuary

Every stone used in our pathways was sourced from the Wakha riverbed. Our tents utilize solar-passive heating and we operate a zero-plastic policy across the retreat.

We believe that luxury should not come at the cost of the ecosystem. Our water filtration systems are powered by high-altitude solar panels, ensuring our footprint is as light as the mountain air.
